A Letter from the President
My name is Lauren Shawgo and I have the extraordinary pleasure of serving the women of the Omega Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Cincinnati. It is my hope that while you are browsing our page you find useful information about the academic excellence, leadership, community involvement and social spirit that we contribute to the exceptional Panhellenic Community at UC.
Kappa Delta was founded October 23, 1897 at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Nationally, Kappa Delta has chartered more than 200 collegiate chapters and 500 alumnae associations across the country. Our chapter here at the University of Cincinnati was installed in 1913 and is one of ten sororities on campus. For over 100 years we have been committed to inspiring our members to lead a values-based life while contributing their leadership, scholarship, and social spirit to the Greek Community and to UC as a whole.
The Sisters of the Omega Xi Chapter are comprised of over 160 driven and diverse women that focus on empowering each other to work hard towards achieving their goals so that they are prepared to enter the professional world as confident, well-rounded women. For my sisters and me, each day is about facing the world with brave hearts and minds as we work together towards our shared goal, creating a greater and better Kappa Delta. The KD house is our favorite place to be where we are reminded that together anything is possible when we strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.
